Just wanted to let you know that the Filthy Pumpkin Blog is currently offline. Guess Michael is working on an overhaul, so stay tuned 🙂

As long as this is the case, we will post anything important on the Filthy Pumpkin Homepage – www.filthypumpkin.com

Dark Athena: No Editorz plx? :/

Posted: April 26, 2009 in Rant

Well, I played trough Escape from Butcher Bay again (the Remake this time) – and started “Assault on Dark Athena”. I really think that both games are seriously kicking some of those hyped titles out there all the way to hell and back.

So what do those games have that Riddick doesn’t have? Simple: An SDK.

So here I am, scuffing through the TCORAODA (The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena) archives with at least some hope of discovering riddick_noeditorsomething nice… and what did I find? A whole truck full of dev manuals for the game – hidden deeply inside the belly of the application, some interesting OpenGL shaderscripts (gonna keep some of those) and a bunch of debug maps I’ll try out later.

Bottom line: Sad that there’s no SDK for this (imo) awesome game.

The Decalman trailer is done you guys. Watch it here (HD). Because of improperly handling a trash compactor, Paulo Mazore paid with his life – or so it would seem. He survived the accident and became – DECALMAN – the flattest man on earth.

Cheers to Paul & Michael for making this possible. It was a real blast doing this. Shooting the material took us about 5 hours – doing the post production took roughly 4 days. There’s still some stuff that I am not entirely happy with, but I decided to kick it out now, or else I’d never finish it…

Just a sidenote: Decalman is no real project. The Trailer is just a funny little thing we did while being bored 😉
