Portal 2 Mapping: “Thinking With Stupidity”

Posted: May 28, 2011 in Games, Projects, Technobabble

So here it is, my very first Portal 2 Map: “Thinking With Stupidity”.

It’s also an entry into the “ThinkingWithPortals.com Summer Mapping Initiative Contest”, so if you like my map, please go ahead and rate it on the site.

Actually, this is the first time I’ve used Hammer to create a level for Valves Source Engine. It’s pretty neat, though I sometimes miss seeing my camera POV within the preview windows. Other than that, you can tell just by looking at the tool that it’s very similar to editors like WorldCraft or Radiant.

I’ve added a breakdown of the maps features as a video. Naturally you shouldn’t watch this, if you want to solve the puzzle on your own. Comments, feedback wanted.

Here is a Speedrun by YouTube user infernet89. He managed to solve the puzzle in a dazzling 40 seconds!
